Justin P. Colanese, M.D.

Dr. Justin Colanese is an ABOS board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon, with a range of clinical interests and expertise.  He has been serving Northwest Indiana and practicing at Lakeshore Bone & Joint Institute since 2019.

In his practice, Dr. Colanese tailors every treatment to what is the most effective and practical for a given patient. Using the latest methods and techniques, his expertise includes joint reconstruction including total hip replacement, total and partial knee replacement, total ankle replacement and fusion; as well as surgical fracture care, foot deformity correction, tendon and ligament reconstruction, and arthroscopy. He also facilitates and performs a variety of nonsurgical treatments for musculoskeletal pathology. 

An Indiana native, Dr. Colanese completed his undergraduate studies at Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana, followed by earning his medical degree at the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. Orthopedic training was completed in Missouri, where Dr. Colanese completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and his advanced foot and ankle reconstruction fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis.

When he is not seeing patients, Dr. Colanese spends time with his wife and young children. He also enjoys reading, golf, exercise, and regularly attending Immanuel United Reformed Church in DeMotte.
