patient resources :: success stories :: Harold H.
harold h., Valparaiso
Harold is a repeat patient with Lakeshore Bone & Joint Institute, with two knee surgeries and a finger surgery listed in his records.
The first time he made an appointment with us was several years ago, soon after his knee locked up without warning as he sat working at his desk. “I had recently taken a spill on a bicycle— that may have been a factor. Knowing LBJI’s reputation, it didn’t occur to me to go anywhere else. I called, confident that I would get excellent care.”
The prognosis was a torn meniscus; Dr. Thomas Kay performed arthroscopy surgery with complete success. He recently noticed pain in the same knee and returned to Dr. Kay for treatment. An MRI confirmed that he had again torn the meniscus. Arthroscopy surgery was again called for. The pain is gone—he has to think about which knee needed the surgeries.
He’s also no stranger to Dr. Aaron Anderson. While playing football in his basement with his young son, Harold tore a tendon in his right ring finger. “Dr. Anderson tried splinting the finger first. When that didn’t work, we opted for surgery. I’m absolutely pleased with the results.”
As an attorney who occasionally takes depositions from LBJI physicians regarding patients who have on-the-job injuries or have been in accidents, Harold’s observation is that “the doctors are patient advocates and are knowledgeable and professional. “I genuinely trust the doctors here and wouldn’t go anywhere else.”
