Aaron G. Anderson, M.D., is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand and upper extremity surgery. His practice focuses on the surgical and nonsurgical treatment of conditions affecting the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand, as well as upper extremity trauma. Dedicated to helping patients regain function and return to the activities they enjoy, Dr. Anderson provides individualized care using the latest evidence-based treatment options and advanced surgical techniques.

Dr. Anderson joined Lakeshore Bone & Joint Institute in 2007 and currently serves as the practice’s President. Throughout his career, he has developed extensive expertise in treating complex upper extremity conditions, with a focus on restoring mobility, reducing pain, and improving overall quality of life. He believes in partnering with patients throughout the treatment process, ensuring they understand their diagnosis and available treatment options so they can make informed decisions about their care.

Dr. Anderson earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He then attended the University of Michigan Medical School, where he received his Doctor of Medicine degree.

Following medical school, Dr. Anderson completed his orthopedic surgery residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York. He then pursued advanced specialty training through a hand and upper extremity surgery fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio, where he gained extensive experience treating complex conditions of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand.

Dr. Anderson is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and holds a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Surgery of the Hand. His approach to patient care emphasizes clear communication, education, and individualized treatment plans designed to help patients achieve the best possible outcomes while returning to their daily activities safely and confidently.

As the team physician for Valparaiso University, Dr. Anderson works closely with athletic trainers and physical therapists to provide safe, effective treatment for athletes.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Anderson enjoys traveling, fishing, robotics, construction projects, sports, and gaming.
