He also gained extensive experience treating complex shoulder conditions, including rotator cuff tears, instability, and arthritis. His fellowship training provided unique exposure to patients seeking second opinions and those requiring revision surgery.

Dr. Levenda is considered an expert in the field of shoulder reconstruction. He treats a wide variety of shoulder disorders, including labral tears, instability, rotator cuff tears, and arthritis. He is a skilled arthroscopist who has developed surgical techniques using grafts and other biologics to augment rotator cuff repairs. Many patients seek his expertise for second opinions because of his experience managing complex shoulder conditions. He performs a high volume of shoulder replacement procedures, including reverse total shoulder replacements and revision surgeries.

As the head team physician for Valparaiso University and several local high schools, Dr. Levenda works closely with athletic trainers and physical therapists to provide safe, effective treatment for athletes. “Getting Back In The Game” is not only a philosophy for athletes participating in organized sports, but one Dr. Levenda applies to all of his patients. He believes an athlete is defined not by age or sport, but by a mindset. Whether you earn a living competing professionally or simply want to play catch with your grandchild, you are an athlete.

Committed to providing the highest level of care, Dr. Levenda remains actively involved in research and education. He has developed and published surgical techniques utilizing biologic grafts for massive rotator cuff tears to improve pain relief and functional outcomes.
