Dr. Li provides specialized hip and knee care with a focus on helping patients reduce pain, restore mobility, and return to the activities they enjoy. Dr. Li grew up in Chicago’s northwest suburbs and was inspired to pursue medicine early by family experiences with arthritis. With a background in engineering and advanced fellowship training in joint replacement, he brings a precise, technology-forward approach to joint replacement care in Northwest Indiana. Dr. Li earned his medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. He completed his orthopedic residency at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, followed by a fellowship in hip and knee replacement at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.

As a fellowship-trained hip and knee replacement surgeon, Dr. Li focuses on advanced technology-assisted techniques and practical strategies to reduce infection risk.

He was the first surgeon in Northwest Indiana to offer ROSA® robotic knee replacement, a technology that supports preoperative planning and real-time guidance during surgery. This technology can help support a more precise, streamlined surgical experience for patients, including the potential for shorter hospital stays and a more confident recovery process.

Dr. Li’s training includes all areas of orthopedic surgery, including trauma and fracture care, sports injuries, shoulder, elbow, hand, and spine care, with specialized fellowship training in hip and knee replacement.

Dr. Li has been involved in orthopedic and infection-related research for more than a decade, with publications and national presentations in these areas. He is committed to bringing world-class, academic-level joint replacement care directly to the community, with treatment recommendations guided by each patient’s goals, comfort, and long-term mobility.

Dr. Li is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS) is a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
