About Heather A. Nath | M.D.

Heather A. Nath, M.D., is a board-certified, fellowship-trained pain management specialist specializing in chronic pain management, spinal cord stimulation, complex regional pain syndrome, and individualized treatment for complex pain conditions.

Dr. Nath joined Lakeshore Bone & Joint Institute in 2008 and provides academic-level pain management care in a personal, patient-centered setting. She approaches each patient as a total person, developing individualized treatment plans that address complex pain issues while supporting function, comfort, and quality of life.

As a fellowship-trained pain management specialist, Dr. Nath has advanced experience in the diagnosis and treatment of chronic pain conditions. Her practice includes spinal cord stimulation techniques for chronic low back pain and neuropathic conditions, as well as the appropriate diagnosis and treatment of complex regional pain syndrome. She is committed to helping patients understand their options, including advanced treatment approaches for patients who may have previously been told they had few options.

Dr. Nath received her undergraduate degree from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. She received her Doctor of Medicine degree from Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, where she also completed an internship in obstetrics and gynecology, a residency in anesthesiology, and fellowship training in pain management.

Before joining Lakeshore Bone & Joint Institute, Dr. Nath practiced for 10 years as a teaching attending at Rush University Medical Center in anesthesiology and pain management.

Her academic background and clinical experience continue to inform her approach to advanced pain care, patient education, and individualized treatment planning.

Dr. Nath is board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and the American Board of Pain Medicine. She is a member of several professional associations, including the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, the Indiana State Medical Association, and the Orthopedic Anesthesia Pain and Rehabilitation Society.

When she is not treating patients, Dr. Nath enjoys traveling, home renovation, and spending time at The Heron Bistro, the French bistro she owns in Michigan City, Indiana.
