Dr. Neel Jain is a fellowship trained, board certified orthopedic surgeon with a special interest in sports medicine, minimally invasive knee and shoulder surgery, as well as shoulder, knee, and hip replacement.

Dr. Jain is a native of Northwest Indiana, and comes to Lakeshore Bone and Joint Institute with a plethora of experience. He values the relationships with his patients and understands the significant amount of trust a patient gives their surgeon. Communication is extremely important and he strives to put patients at ease. Having been an athlete, his greatest satisfaction comes from improving a patient’s quality of life and getting them back to their desired level of activity. While he is a proficient surgeon and enjoys the technical aspects of procedures, he provides patients all avenues of treatments, understanding that oftentimes injuries and ailments can be treated by nonoperative measures.

Dr. Jain graduated cum laude from Northwestern University with a biomedical engineering degree.  He then completed his medical school at Indiana University where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society, offered to the top tier students.  With his biomedical engineering degree and sports background, orthopedic surgery was his perfect match.  He went on to complete his orthopedic surgery residency at Northwestern University in Chicago, where he worked alongside doctors for the Chicago Cubs, Blackhawks, and Bears.  From there, he completed a sports medicine fellowship at the San Diego Knee and Sports Medicine Research Fellowship.

Dr. Jain returned to northwest Indiana in 2011, excited to bring his expertise to the community where he grew up.  Dr. Jain joins Lakeshore Bone and Joint Institute with an abundance of experience, having performed thousands of procedures.  Since completing his training, he has continued to update his techniques as medicine constantly evolves, striving to give patients the best possible outcome.

Dr. Jain is team physician for Chesterton, Michigan City, Marquette, La Lumiere, and New Buffalo high schools.  He values communication with the athletic trainers and serves to get athletes back on the field in the quickest and safest manner.

Rest assured, there is no need to seek a physician outside our local community to receive top notch care. Dr. Jain understands the numerous options for patients, and values the opportunity to improve one’s quality of life.

Dr. Jain enjoys spending time with his wife and three children.  He also continues to stay active playing tennis, golf, and pickleball.

Dr. Jain is available to see patients at our Chesterton and Michigan City locations.  Please call (219) 250-5038 to schedule an appointment or learn more.
