Dr. Jain provides orthopedic and sports medicine support for Chesterton High School student athletes

Lakeshore Bone & Joint Institute, a leading orthopedic practice in Indiana, announced today that Neel P. Jain, M.D., a fellowship-trained, board-certified orthopedic surgeon, will continue to serve as the sports physician for Chesterton High School.

Dr. Jain grew up in Northwest Indiana and specializes in sports medicine and care for conditions affecting the knee, shoulder, elbow, and hip, as well as joint replacement. A former athlete, he understands the demands of sports and works with patients to explore nonsurgical and surgical treatment options that support a safe return to activity.

As the sports physician for Chesterton High School, Dr. Jain provides orthopedic and sports medicine support for student athletes across all sports throughout the school year. His role includes injury evaluation, treatment recommendations, return-to-play guidance, and collaboration with athletic trainers, coaches, student athletes, and families when injuries happen during training or competition.

Dr. Jain also helps athletes and families understand their options and the next steps in recovery, from the initial evaluation through their return to play.

“Having grown up in Northwest Indiana, it means a lot to care for student athletes in the community I call home,” said Dr. Jain. “If an injury happens, communication is key. My goal is to help athletes and their families understand their options, recover safely, and return to the activities they care about with confidence.”

Through partnerships with athletic programs like Chesterton High School’s, LBJI continues to support student athletes and community members across Northwest Indiana with access to specialized orthopedic and sports medicine care.
