About Neel P. Jain | M.D.

Neel P. Jain, M.D., is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine, minimally invasive knee and shoulder surgery, and joint replacement of the hip, knee, and shoulder. His practice focuses on helping patients recover from injuries, restore function, and return to the activities they enjoy through individualized treatment plans that combine advanced surgical techniques with evidence-based nonsurgical care. Dr. Jain is committed to providing comprehensive orthopedic care that supports both active lifestyles and long-term musculoskeletal health.

A northwest Indiana native, Dr. Jain brings to Lakeshore Bone & Joint Institute and his community extensive experience treating athletes and active individuals of all ages. Throughout his career, he has developed expertise in sports-related injuries, shoulder and knee conditions, ligament reconstruction, cartilage restoration, and minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery. He believes in partnering with patients throughout the treatment process, ensuring they understand their diagnosis and available treatment options so they can make informed decisions about their care.

Dr. Jain earned his Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical engineering from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, where he graduated cum laude. He then received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

Following medical school, Dr. Jain completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Northwestern University, where he worked alongside doctors for the Chicago Cubs, Blackhawks, and Bears. He then pursued advanced specialty training through the San Diego Knee and Sports Medicine Research Fellowship in San Diego, where he gained extensive experience treating complex sports injuries in athletes of all levels.

Dr. Jain is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and remains committed to staying at the forefront of advancements in sports medicine and orthopedic care. His approach to patient care emphasizes education, communication, and individualized treatment plans designed to help patients achieve the best possible outcomes and safely return to their desired activities.

As a team physician for local high schools and athletic programs, Dr. Jain works closely with athletic trainers, coaches, and rehabilitation specialists to provide coordinated care for athletes throughout Northwest Indiana.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Jain enjoys spending time with his wife and three children as well as staying active by playing tennis, golf, and pickleball.
